Vedic Education :- The Vedas signify the ancient principles that are the immortal milestones that guide us in our noble odyssey of spreading the light of knowledge. Education in school is an amalgamation of the ancient Vedic values and contemporary scientific temperament alongwith the intellectual development. Class wise Hawans are organized to inculcate a sense of honour and pride in our culture and heritage . Emphasis is laid on Indian Culture, its values, Nationalism and right of freedom.
Infractural Facilities :- Over the years the school has acquired a very impressive infrastructure with air conditioned classes in pre- school with well ventilated classrooms, tech savy laboratories in all the 3 wings Computer , Science and Mathematics Laboratories, Yoga centre, Seminar Room Music, Dance and Sports Rooms, Auditorium, Resource centre, Conference hall Smart classrooms, and vast play ground.
Smart Classes – The school provides a smart curriculum in each class for all students. The smart classes are equipped with the computers, large screen display devices embedded in rolling white boards and a large panel interactive electronic white board with LCD projection system. The classroom turn into lively platforms for learning where teaching happens through digital instruction material, 3 D animated modules and Videos.
Students Council :- A team of students at the Primary, Middle and Senior classes are appointed and the prestigious Council Ministers are give them an opportunity to contribute their bit to the administration of the school and helps to foster in them a sense of responsibility,
Scholastic:- The school organizes and participates in various International/National/State/ Zonal competitions and activities . There are various Inter school and Intra school competitions like singing drama, essay writing, painting, rangoli, bulletin board decoration, art and craft, elocution, Yoga, various athletic events etc., The students actively participate in health melas, health camps, national health programmes.
Exposure Project : The students are given opportunities to interact with and gain exposure on the work profile of eminent personalities from different walks of life, Over the years they have interacted with the President, Prime Minister, Chief Minister, Media and Sports personalities, Educationist and other celebrities from different walks of life.
Aakanksha Centre for Children With Specific Needs:- The Centre for Special Children Aakanksha has about 100 students. Children with mild, moderate and severe disabilities in the age of 3yrs to 20 years are imparted education here. Inclusive Education fully and partially in certain cases provide an opportunity to all learners with or without disability to learn together. Every diversity is accepted and we make every child a unique learner.
Social Outreach Initiatives :- The school has an excellent record of providing service to society. The school has a Dayanand Prodh Shiksha Kendra which is dedicated to educating women living in slums from the past 15 years. Besides education, the women are sensitized on various issues of Health. Hygiene, Environment, Social evils, Family planning etc., The Bal Sakshatra Kendra in the school is dedicated to the cause of educating children living in the slums. Financial support is given by way of providing transport , clothing, health check up, medicines, stationery items etc. they are taught the subjects of the regular school. The school also celebrates festivals with slum dwellers.
Media Coverage – The various activites, projects exhibitions of the school are covered in the print media, Besides , the Principal Mrs. Chitra Nakra was a guest Editor for the NIE Times of India student edition dated 20th January,2008 . : “ The Principal also pens news for newspapers, CENBOSEC, Mind Field Aryan Heritage and DAV journals.
Seminar and Workshops:- Keeping pace with innovations and enrichment of educational platforms in school- various seminars, lectures ,workshops . Teacher training programs, workshops on developing Sample paper, DAV inservice programmes, workshops on CCE, ELT skill etc., are organized all through the year.
SPORTS – The school has a big playground comprising badminton court, Volleyball court, football ground besides indoor game facilities for table tennis, chess, taekwondo, gymnastics, aerobics etc., A Sports Meet is also organized every year and eminent sports persons are invited to motivate and inspire the students.
Face to Face with Foreign Luminaries Resource persons from foreign countries visit our school from time to time and partner us in our projects and act as a source of inspiration for the students.
Alumni- The school has among its alumni persons occupying high positions in the fields of academics, law , civil services, business industries politics performing arts and culture. The alumni is a rich source of resource and guidance for the institution .
Principal as Resource Person : The Principal has been recipient of many prestigious awards for her meritorious service in the field of education, community service, promoting values, concern on environmental issues, information technology, promotion of arts etc. Many teachers of the school have also been felicitated with awards and recognition at the State and National level.
VVDAV and Value Based Education– Emphasis is laid on Indian culture, its value nationalism and right of freedom. The Education is a blend of ancient and modern system of education. Principal as a Resource Person – As an academician she has attended National and International Conference, Chaired several academic session, delivered lectures at various national conference. She also written for the CENBOSEC, Mind Field , Guest Editor of TOI- student Edition, presenting papers at DAV meets etc.,
The school also prescribes private publishers/ books for academic enrichment, NCERT CBSE and DAV Board are the main publishers suggested to students.
